As a global company, HK GS has been involved in initiatives that drive changes and improvements throughout our organization, intending to address the impact we have on the planet and promote sustainable business practices.
Climate Action
In terms of climate action, we strive to quantify, disclose, and reduce our environmental footprint. Additionally, we seek to increase the proportion of renewable energy we procure. Annually, we disclose the energy usage and emissions generated by operations in our Report.
Science objectives
We are taking concrete actions regarding greenhouse gas emissions and have established science-based targets that have been validated by the initiative of several companies. Our short-term objectives include reducing emissions in the following areas:
- Business travel
- Employee travel
- Suppliers' participation.
Renewable Energy & Efficiency
Regarding renewable energies and efficiency, we continue to decrease the carbon footprint of our offices. This is achieved by expanding the procurement of renewable electricity through green tariffs and identifying opportunities for energy efficiency. Furthermore, our data migration to the cloud has enabled us to reduce the number of servers on our premises and enhance energy efficiency.

Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in every aspect of our operation, and we strive to lead by example. We actively engage in implementing sustainable practices in our facilities, from the design and construction of green buildings to the efficient management of natural resources. Additionally, we promote the adoption of innovative technologies and processes that minimize our environmental impact.
Hybrid business and business travel
Regarding business travel and hybrid work, we encourage our employees to make conscious decisions both in their professional and personal lives. Our hybrid work model also has a positive impact on the transportation footprint of our workforce and supports the well-being of our employees. We will continue to enhance our employee benefits, which promote sustainability, such as incentives for using public transportation, hybrid/electric vehicles, and bike-to-work programs.
Sustainability culture
To foster a culture of sustainability, HK GS has implemented global sustainability training that encompasses all our employees. Through our global affinity group, we drive sustainability initiatives both internally and in our communities.
Our sustainability program aims to support and coordinate our employees’ passions for our planet by organizing activities, events, and initiatives to raise awareness and engagement with environmental issues.
